AIMMS metabolomics minisymposium: Understanding metabolic systems

Amsterdam Institute for Molecules, Medicines and Systems

Sciences

Conference / Symposium / Seminar

Within AIMMS we are planning to reignite the ‘flagships’, i.e. major themes that we will actively collaborate on. We wil kick-off with the flagship ‘Metabolomics’ – other efforts will come later in the year.

On May 17, 10.00-12.00 we will organise the AIMMS metabolomics minisymposium:  Understanding metabolic systems in the O|2 Auditorium.

Through different presentations we will show each other our current activities to fuel discussions on where we can increase collaborations. The minisymposium is open to everyone, the lunch afterwards is for AIMMS PIs only (they will be invited separately).

Programme:
10:00 – 10:10 Bas Teusink: introduction
10:10 – 10:30 Jeroen Kool : Analytics for profiling biologically active mixtures
10.30 – 10:50 Pim Leonards: Rodent behaviour alterations after pesticide exposure and links to molecular mechanisms
10.50 – 11:00 Bio-break/ informal discussions
11.00 – 11:20 Paul Jennings: Chemical-induced alterations in cellular metabolism as a sensitive method for determining toxicity
11:20 – 11:40 Bas Teusink : Understanding metabolism: from theory to practise
11:40 – 12:00 Open discussion

12.00-14.00 AIMMS PI lunch on how to organise the Flagship ‘Metabolomics’ (open to AIMMS PIs only).
