Assistant professor

Dr. Chris de Graaf performed his PhD research in the Molecular Toxicology research group at VU University Amsterdam on computational ligand binding mode and affinity predictions in cytochrome P450 enzymes between 2002 and 2006. Then, he joined the structural chemogenomics research group at the University of Strasbourgh (France). As a post-doctoral fellow, de Graaf worked in collaboration with AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals on the development and application of novel G-protein coupled receptor modeling techniques.

In 2009, de Graaf was appointed assistant professor in the Medicinal Chemistry research group at VU University. Currently, he is responsible for the computer-aided drug design research line, complementing the synthetic medicinal chemistry and molecular pharmacology programs. He obtained a Veni-grant in 2009 to develop selective and integrative structure-based virtual screening strategies against intended and undesired protein targets.
