Jacob de Boer explained in the Dutch newspaper Eindhovens Dagblad why the employees of the company Custom Powders should have their blood tested for the substance GenX. According to Jacob de Boer, the employees might have the controversial substance in their bodies. He does not expect health hazards for the people living or working near the company. The risks of larger plastic particles are well-known, but the danger of microplastics for large sea animals like whales and sharks needs further investigation, they explain.
