Jaap Heringa appointed figurehead of the ELIXIR-NL cluster on NWO Roadmap
Recently, NWO has presented the ‘Roadmap for Large-Scale Scientific Infrastructure’. The 33 research facilities and clusters selected for this Roadmap are eligible for NWO funding in the next four years. AIMMS researcher Prof. Jaap Heringa (Integrative Bioinformatics) has been appointed as the figurehead of one of these clusters: ELIXIR-NL.
ELIXIR-NL will form a cluster together with two other facilities: the Digital Research Environment (DRE) facility of Radboudumc and the EuroCAT &WorldCat facilities of Maastricht University Medical Centre. Working together, they will support life science facilities and research projects with their digital needs, including their data approach. NWO has stipulated that other Roadmap clusters with data-related components should cooperate with ELIXIR-NL, providing ELIXIR-NL with an important mandate to streamline Dutch life science data stewardship according to the FAIR data principles.
More information on the ELIXIR-NL cluster and the Roadmap can be found on the Dutch Techcentre for Life Sciences website.
